Navikru Eco Foundation is a not-for-profit company founded by Preeti Chauhan in 2021. It started its work with sustainability education in the Ladakh region to developing and implement sustainable solutions with actions.
Our Mission
To inspire and empower through education, advocacy, and action that promote sustainable living. We collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes and implement meaningful grassroots solutions that foster environmental stewardship for a healthier, more resilient future.

Preeti Chauhan
Founder & Managing Director
Navikru Eco Foundation
Preeti Chauhan is a social development entrepreneur by profession, a civil engineer by qualification, an environmentalist by belief, and a zero-waste practitioner by passion. A Mumbai girl at heart, who dons various caps with a charming smile. Her journey from being a corporate employee to being a social entrepreneur in Ladakh, India, has been an amalgamation of adventure with self-reflection and awakening.
Preeti founded Little Green World and Navikru Eco Foundation which not only provides awareness but also provides sustainable alternatives to adopt a sustainable life. Preeti also worked as a Researcher on National Geographic Explorer Project and works as consultant with organizations in sustainability field.

Tajamul Akhtar
Project Lead & Sustainability Educator

Tajamul Akhtar is a qualified Mental health social worker from the Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai. Since 2021, she has been a menstrual health and hygiene educator. Since 2023, Tajamul has been serving as Assistant Project Lead at Little Green World and a Sustainability Educator at Navikru Eco Foundation for the Wipro Earthian program.
Tajamul works on the ground with students and teachers and her expertise extends to conducting group and individual counseling sessions connecting with the environment. Tajamul hails from Drass region of Kargil and her local knowledge helps the organizations to bring holistic solutions.

Dr. Katie Conlon
Mentor
Navikru Eco Foundation
Katie Conlon, Ph.D., researches waste streams from the perspective of reconnecting an awareness of waste with social and ecological systems and closing the loop on waste externalities. She is a zero-waste advocate, National Geographic Explorer, Fulbright Fellow, and National Science Foundation Fellow associated as a researcher with Portland State University (USA).
Ms. Conlon has worked and researched across the Asian region on waste and sustainability issues in Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Vietnam, Japan, Nepal, and India. Over the past 12 years, she has spent time learning about the Dharma and visiting Buddhist sites across South and East Asia, as well as volunteered at monasteries in Nepal.

Amruta Deo

Amruta is an MBA grad with a strong background in the corporate IT world and a deep-rooted passion for sustainability. With experience leading CSR initiatives and working with Rotary clubs, she brings both strategic insight and community-driven action to everything she does.
As a mom to a curious 3-year-old and a firm believer that every small action counts, Amruta blends purpose with practicality in her daily life. At Navikru, Amruta serves as a Director on the Board, where she plays a key role in evaluating eco-projects and establishing strategic partnerships that foster real, lasting change.
